A: Du‘a’-ul-Istiftah is a Sunnah (supererogatory act of worship following the example of the Prophet), but if you fear to miss reciting Al-Fatihah before moving to the Ruku‘, then recite Al-Fatihah and leave Du‘a’-ul-Istiftah. If you fear missing the Ruku‘, you do not have to recite Du‘a’-ul-Istiftah or Al-Fatihah.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
